You’ll gain the tools, techniques, and decision-making skills needed to start touring safely and efficiently, working with the same guide both days to build confidence and reinforce learning.This course is perfect for women skiers and riders who love spending time in the mountains and are ready to take their first steps into backcountry touring. No prior backcountry experience is required.COURSE OVERVIEW:You’ll be introduced to the tools, techniques, and decision-making skills needed to start touring safely and efficiently. Women’s Backcountry 1.0+ goes deeper than Alpenglow’s traditional Backcountry 1.0 by providing two consecutive days of guided instruction, allowing participants to build on their learning and apply new skills immediately.Note: This is an on-snow course conducted in partnership with the Tahoe National Forest and Palisades Tahoe. Ages 16+ welcome; ages 12–16 may join with a parent.WHAT TO EXPECT:Expect two full days outside in winter mountain conditions, hiking and skiing. The group will pace itself, but both days are active and immersive.
